used to + forma base, uguale per tutti i soggetti.
- I used to smoke. → adesso non fumo più.
- She used to live in Rome. → adesso vive altrove.
Negativo e interrogativo
Con did, e allora used torna use:
- I didn't use to like coffee.
- Did you use to play an instrument?
Attenzione
I used to have long hair, We used to be neighbours.
Per un fatto singolo non si può usare: I used to break my leg in 2019 è sbagliato — serve il past simple.
