Quasi sempre in domande con I e we:
- Shall I open the window? → offro.
- Shall we go? → propongo.
Futuro formale
In contesti legali o molto formali sostituisce will: The tenant shall pay the rent monthly.
Attenzione
Come futuro semplice nel parlato è fuori uso: I shall arrive at six suona antiquato. Per offrirsi o proporre invece è vivo e comunissimo, e Shall we? non ha un vero equivalente con will.
