Con tutti i verbi tranne be, la negazione si costruisce con did not (didn't) e il verbo alla forma base.

Con "be"
Be fa storia a sé: wasn't / weren't, senza did.
- She wasn't at home.
- They weren't ready.
Attenzione
È l'errore più frequente: il passato sta o su did o sul verbo, mai su entrambi.
- I didn't go. ✅
- I didn't went. ❌
